How long does a stool test take? We are often asked this question at Darmklachten.nl. Unfortunately, there is no single simple answer. How long a stool test takes depends on several factors, such as the type of test, delivery time, return time and laboratory processing time. We are happy to explain these factors in more detail. Read on to find out more.

Different tests

The Darmklachten.nl webshop offers various stool tests. The time required for a stool test differs from one test to another. After you order the analysis package you want, the package will be sent to the address you provided. Stool samples for the basic package may only be sent in on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. This is because the test material must not arrive just before the weekend. Samples for parasitological testing can be sent in on any day of the week.

Delivery and return times

We send our products via Business Post or PostNL. Orders placed before 13:00 on working days are dispatched the same working day. Orders received after 12:00 on Friday and/or during the weekend are dispatched on Monday.

Laboratory processing time

As soon as the samples arrive at the laboratory, the laboratory can analyse them. The laboratory aims to complete the stool-test results and place them online within seven to ten days. The microbiome test is an exception, as it takes approximately four weeks for the report to be ready. We advise all clients to consult a doctor in the event of abnormal findings.
