A large proportion of people with gastrointestinal complaints are infected with single-celled parasites. It is possible that 40% of the population carries these parasites. Not everyone has symptoms, but infection can cause symptoms that may be very troublesome.

The PARASITE PANEL 2 module determines the presence or absence of five intestinal parasites:

• Blastocystis hominis
• Giardia lamblia
• Cryptosporidium spp.
• Entamoeba histolytica
• Cyclospora cayentanensis
